A compact space designed for work, rest and everyday rituals.
A concept-led interior project for a compact, multi-functional space, designed to serve as a mudroom, home office corner and dog shower, while feeling more like a retreat than a purely practical zone. Directly connected to the outdoors, the scheme draws inspiration from the surrounding landscape, translating natural textures and muted tones into a calm, cohesive interior.
Bespoke joinery forms the backbone of the design, providing integrated seating, storage and work surfaces that allow the space to shift seamlessly between daily functions. To soften the more architectural elements, tactile materials play a central role throughout the scheme.
The built-in bench is upholstered in a jacquard weave fabric, finished with dark piping for subtle definition. A round back cushion adds comfort and support, reinforcing the idea of the space as somewhere to pause and rest, rather than simply pass through. Layered textures, including a sheepskin rug, introduce warmth and tactility underfoot.
Lighting is carefully considered to enhance the atmosphere. A handcrafted glass pendant introduces an organic counterpoint to the linear joinery, casting a soft, ambient glow that gently uplifts the space. Its delicate materiality and warm brass detailing help to soften the overall composition, balancing functionality with a sense of quiet luxury.
Together, the materials, layout and lighting create an interior that demonstrates how even a small space can support multiple uses while remaining calm, grounded and deeply connected to its setting.
