The Brief
The client wanted a hard-working space at the entrance to their home that could accommodate everyday storage, a place to sit and take off shoes, a small workspace, and a dedicated dog shower, all within a compact footprint. The space needed to feel calm and considered, with natural materials and a warm, cohesive aesthetic.

PLANNING & LAYOUT
We explored different layouts to ensure the space could comfortably accommodate seating, storage, a workspace and a dog shower while maintaining a sense of flow.

The Design
A continuous run of bespoke joinery forms the backbone of the space, bringing together seating, storage and a home office area.
The layout allows the room to shift easily between everyday functions, while natural materials, layered textures and muted tones create a calm, welcoming atmosphere that feels connected to the surrounding garden.
A built-in bench is upholstered in a jacquard weave fabric with dark piping for definition. A round back cushion adds comfort and support, while open storage beneath keeps everyday footwear accessible.
Thoughtful Seating
The integrated desk provides a quiet spot for working from home, with bespoke joinery and warm brass detailing to complement the overall scheme.
A Practical Workspace
Architectural details, such as the timber ceiling treatment and carefully selected lighting, introduce texture and character, elevating the space beyond a purely functional utility room.
